Én av tre kommuner har kreftsykepleier i normert stilling.
- Mange tar kontakt for sent, mener Marit Huseklepp.
– Hadde mor strevd mer med å dø, hadde det vært annerledes for meg, sier Astrid Rønsen. – Grunnen til at det gikk så fint, var at hun var så rolig.
En studie viser at helsepersonell kan lindre noe av pasientens åndelige og eksistensielle behov. – Hvis pasienten vil snakke om døden, må du aldri la sjansen gå fra deg, sier sykepleier i lindrende team.
Da faren døde, var han dement og isolert med MRSA-bakterier. – Jeg skulle skreket av full hals: «Stopp! Det er brudd på menneskerettighetene», sier tv-journalisten Helene Sandvig.

– Sykepleiens redaktør skriver at en av grunnene til å ønske aktiv dødshjelp er at mennesker ikke vil være «til bry»for sine nærmeste når hjelpebehovet blir for stort. Det mener jeg er en klanderverdig påstand. Det er mer nyansert enn som så, skriver innleggsforfatteren.
I møte med døende pasienter trenger sykepleiere mer enn teori- og prosedyrekunnskaper.
Humor kan være et viktig hjelpemiddel i sykepleie til alvorlige syke hvis det brukes riktig.
