En alvorlig syk pasient er mer enn et menneske med en diagnose. Samtaler med sykepleieren om dagligdagse temaer kan styrke pasientens livsmot.
For halvannet år siden utga Sykepleien et bokasin om døden og etiske problemstillinger knyttet til behandling. Lesningen vakte til live minner om en opplevelse som var skjellsettende for meg som sykepleier. Denne historien har jeg lyst til å dele med Sykepleiens lesere.
Artikkelen viser hvordan psykiatriske sykepleiere ser på sitt faglige bidrag i tverrfaglig samarbeid innen den psykiske helsetjenesten.
– Gi oss sykepleiere det lønnsløftet vi sårt trenger og fortjener. Om ikke, frykter jeg at vi ikke lenger klarer å stå i jobbene våre, skriver sykepleieren.
Menneskers livserfaringer setter seg i kroppen. Sykepleiere bør ta hensyn til pasientenes livshistorie når de vurderer aktuelle sykepleietiltak.
– Både som sykepleiere og mennesker ser, og oppfatter, vi situasjoner og informasjon ulikt. Det mener jeg det skal være rom for, skriver sykepleier Leif Roger Nylenden.
Sykepleiere møter ofte mennesker i krise. Hva sier du til mannen som har fått beskjed om at han snart skal dø, eller til jenta som brått har mistet sin mor?
Sykepleiere er i en nøkkelposisjon til å oppdage sepsis tidlig. Men de trenger mer kunnskap og bedre klinisk kompetanse, og de må kjenne til kartleggingsverktøyene.
– Jeg har verdens beste jobb som sykepleier i ambulanse. Men hvorfor får jeg lønn som ambulansearbeider og pensjonsalder som sykepleier, spør Magnar Skorven i Helse Førde.
