Undersøkelsen tyder på at pårørende ser behov for mer faglært personell, bedre norskkunnskaper og økt kompetanse innen palliasjon blant ansatte ved norske sykehjem.
De observerer blikkontakt, trøsting og atferd basert på erfaring uten å bruke anerkjente metoder. Også muligheten for fagutvikling, mange arbeidsoppgaver og tverrfaglig samarbeid påvirker vurderingene.
